How many times in life have you heard that statement? I think it's pretty accurate, and so I try to reconnect to that concept daily.
I just read an article by Mark Manson on Yoganonymous, The Most Important Question You Can Ask Yourself Today.
There are so many great points in this article. For me, you could also express this concept by connecting it to attitude. The attitude you have towards the experiences that are both pleasurable and difficult. What’s worth the effort for you? Connect with that, and then try not to have a bad attitude while putting in the effort.
Don’t ask for easy, ask for the courage to keep going when it gets difficult.
Don’t ask for comfortable. Ask for challenges that force you to grow and expand.
Don’t ask for people you want. Ask for the people you need. Those that will challenge you on a soul level, who will be your mirror and show you all the places you are holding yourself back.
Don’t ask for someone to love you, instead ask for someone who can teach you how to set your heart free.
